JANUARY 2010

13th - X Block Quilts - Pick any Pattern from book or single patterns. One of our most requested classes.
Get great results with such simple sewing 9-3 and/or 5:30-9:30 pm

16th - X - Block Same as above 9-4 pm

15th  - Amazing Bucket - Turn a 5 Qt Ice Cream or Paint Bucket into the greatest organizer for your sewing room, baby shower, Shop Tote…. Very easy to customize for your needs. 9-12 and/or 1 - 4 pm or 6-9 pm.

16th BLOCK OF THE MONTH - Patriotic or Floral - 20 blocks, $2.50 each block.  Requires  “Facts & Fabrications about Slavery”.  Call and reserve your spot.  We only have openings in the Floral. Learn new techniques. 8:30 am to 9:30 am.

PAJAMA PARTY - Third Saturdays are our pajama party, bring snacks and stuff to sew.  It is amazing how much we can do when we are together.  2 pm to ????? (Midnight)

18th - LOCKER HOOKING - want a way to use up scraps or fabric that you are not sure why you have it. Learn to Locker hook those pieces away. Can be washed and dried.  NO SEWING INVOLVED! Start a rug or hot pad.

20th - APRONS GALORE  - Pick any of our apron patterns. - Simple to moderate.  Make one or more in class.  9-1 pm  We have hundreds of fabrics from retro, 30’s, civil war & more. Each apron is unique.

23rd - APRONS GALORE _ same as above 9-1 pm

27th - EASY STRIP QUILT _ Just one yard of focus print and scraps will turn into a great small quilt.  Need a bigger one we can do that with EQ6.  Come see our samples and let your mind wander with all the possibilities. 9-3 pm

FEBRUARY 2010

3rd - BRAID RUNNER or MADISON SQAURE RUNNER -  Easy quilt as you go Table runner.  AS you quilt as you sew all 3 layers together. Requires a WALKING FOOT.  We also have QUILTIE TRIO, which is a miniature version.  These are addictive projects. 9-2 pm and/or 6-10pm

6th BRAID RUNNER _ Same as above 9-2 pm

8th - MACHINE APPLIQUE - Let’s try a small project and learn to use the blanket stitch, zigzag and other stitches on our machines.  Use different threads and needles. 9-12 and/or 1 -4 pm

10th - ELEANOR BURNS QUILTS - Eleanor has so many books, let’s try “NIGHT & DAY”.  Looks like you have done paper piecing, but it is as Strip Piecing. You create three items - Quilt - Wall hanging - & Table runner.  Uses up every piece of fabric. 9-3 and/or 6-10 pm.

22nd Annual Calico Cut-Ups Quilt Show - Fri Feb 12 10-4, Sat Feb 13th 10-4 pm Salvation Army, Independence MO 14700 Truman Rd, No Admission Charge.

15th - LEARN TO PIECE - all different tricks that help that block come out perfect.  Make a Mini Quilt; if we have time we can quilt it.  Requires ¼” piecing foot and walking foot.

17th - DISAPPERAING NINE PATCH - Eleanor has a newer pattern that turns nine patches into a great quilt. 9-2 and/or 6-10 pm


20th - BLOCK OF THE MONTH - 8:30 - 9:30 am
 TASTING PARTY FOR “TASTEFULLY SIMPLE” by Lynn Smith

20th - PAJAMA PARTY - Bring projects & Snacks 2 pm till ????

24th - 4 PATCH STACKED POSIE - One great fabric. 4 repeats - Gives the look of a kaleidoscope by just cutting squares.  No Block is the same 9-5 and/or 6-10 pm.


MARCH 2010

3rd - Create your own table topper - Take your favorite block, Expand it, Set it. Let Val help you design it on EQ6.  Best program to be a quilt designer… 9-2 and/or 6-10 pm.

6th - Create your own table topper - Same as above 9-2 pm

10th PANEL QUILTS - Bring your favorite panel and fabric to match, we have a good choice of many free patterns to choose from.  Easy quick baby quilts or lap robes 9- 2 pm

13th Whiteman Area Piecemakers & Inspired Quilters QUILT SHOW - First Christian Church - Gay & Holden in Warrensburg MO.

15th - THE CRESTWOOD - Great purse, easy to quilt & finish. 9-1 pm and/or 6-10 pm

17th - BYOB II - Easy tote that you can personalize with your initial.  Purses are a great way to learn to quilt your own fabric.  Use variegated thread and topstitch needle3 to get a very Chic look. 9-3 and/or
6-10pm Wear Your GREEN today!

20th - PAJAMA PARTY - Bring projects & Snacks 2 pm till ????  Same as always!  But it’s Val’s birthday after midnight.

24th - ORION’S STAR QUILT - Eleanor has another great book.  A log cabin and flying geese make this a quick quilt. 9-5 pm.

26th  &   27th- THE GATHERING-- don’t miss this chance to see over 25 vendors in one building.   Friday 9-6 and Saturday 9-3 pm.  It’s at the Community Center in the park in Stover on Rt 52, just before Nu-Style Quilt Shop.  Come early!

Please bring your machine in working order, cleaned and

with a new needle for your project.

 Arrive early to pick your spot

 and get your supplies and machine ready.
